The Walking Dead shamble onto iOS on Thursday

Better late than never, right? Telltale's excellent adaptation of The Walking Dead is hitting iOS devices on Thursday--a few months past its intended April launch.

Episode One, "A New Day," will be available on the App Store for $4.99. If you're hooked, you'll be able to buy future episodes for $4.99 each. You can also pre-purchase episodes 2-5 for $14.99, essentially getting one episode for free.


Episode Two, "Starved for Help," should also be available soon.

The iOS version of the game will have touch screen controls. You'll still retain full character control of Lee,gw2 gold www.gw2gold.net as you tap on investigation points, dialogue trees, and swipe across the screen to perform actions. The game will work on the following devices: iPad 2, the new iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and 4th Generation iPods and above.

Today's episode of Shacknews Daily is all about the undead. First up, popular ArmA 2 mod Day Z is becoming a standalone game. And, it may even happen before Christmas. Then, Final Fantasy Versus XIII might not be canceled after all. The producer denied the rumor, even saying "lol." Finally, Kratos comes back to life... in a prequel. Ascension will have a more "likable" Kratos--in spite of him doing all the murderous things in the game.
The team said they wanted to include that in the game, but only a few coins would come out and they didn't find that satisfying. "So we made it so that if you dash, coins come out like crazy," Amano said. The game concept spun out from there, and the team agreed that a million coins seemed like a good "astounding" number to reach for.
But then a "big problem arose." The goal of getting a million coins became too insurmountable, and even replaying stages wasn't enough to reach such a large goal. So the team created other methods of getting more coins, like the Coin Rush mode, co-op play, and Street Pass features. The team also had to win over producer Shigeru Miyamoto, whose initial reaction to the Coin Head block power-up was simply: "I don't like it." He apparently changed his tune when they explained it as if it were a regular block that was stuck to Mario's head, rather than being bashed.
New Super Mario Bros 2 launches August 19; and speaking of coins, Nintendo is promoting its new digital initiative by offering double the Club Nintendo coins for buying a digital copy.
