According to the report gathered by comScore, 2011 was the boom for the mobile industry because consumers’ are into smartphones and mobile social content. It is said to be that 2012, consumers will be much more hunger for mobile industry will bring much more changes and more innovative.Up to 64 million users of smartphones accessed social networking and blog destinations via mobile devices.
Smartphones played a bigger role in people's daily lives: 64 million smartphone owners in the US accessed social networking or blog destinations via mobile device as of December, up 77% from December-2010 levels. Among those consumers, more than one-half accessed such sites on a daily basis, up 88% year over year.
Statistics says also that this is the new shopping companion specially women who can't go on to market and shops because of the busy schedule and children to handle with. Unlike on men that only use their smartphones for the information they needed. Because of course everyone knows women loves shopping!
* Women were more likely to use their smartphone to make shopping a more social experience: 24% took product pictures, 20.2% sent those pictures to friends/family, and 22.3% called or sent text messages to family/friends about a specific product.
* Men were more likely to use their smartphone to find information: 20.4% scanned a product barcode, 14.1% compared prices, and 10.9% researched product features via smartphone.
The Big Mobile Picture
In the US alone, there were more than 400 smartphone devices on the market by the end of 2011.
Smartphones are the most purchased device as of 2011 and will blast off more in this year 2012. Because of the convenience that brought by this. It is said to be that 8% of Americans are into smartphones and 2% for tablet cause it delivers more fast and reliable. I guess 2012 would be the start year for taking not just the Americans,small or big business planners but the world into the next level of innovation. Mobile websites that are more handy and thumb-friendly.
