Troubleshooting an Air Hog RC Battery Intruder

The Air Hogs Intruder is a remote-controlled, twin-propeller miniature airplane designed for children ages eight and up. The foam and rubber plane comes packaged with a charging dock and a bevy of decorative stickers. As with other battery operated toys, users occasionally experience issues with battery function. Fortunately, there are several troubleshooting tips for users with battery trouble to try.

Remove the screw holding the remote controller's battery cover in place using a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the 9V battery and quickly touch both terminals to your tongue. If you experience an acidic taste, the battery is still functional. Ensure that the contained 9V battery is properly reconnected to the 9V coupling and the battery cover is properly reattached.

Remove the charging dock's battery door using a Phillips screwdriver. You should find six functioning C batteries under the door. Use a battery tester to test the charge of each battery. Ensure that the terminals of each battery are properly aligned with the plus and minus signs on beside the battery compartments. If necessary, replace dead C batteries with fresh ones.

Place your Intruder airplane on the charging dock by positioning the alignment tabs on the airplane and charger in line with each other. Push down until the plane clicks into place. The light emitting diode on the charging station should glow red (to signify that the plane is charging) or green (to signify that the plane is charged). If the light is red, allow the plane at least three minutes to charge.

Test that your Intruder plane is properly attached to the charging dock by picking up the dock and flipping it upside down. If the plane holds fast to the dock, the connection is solid. If the plane falls away, it was not connected properly.

Ensure that the plane's power switch is activated. The switch has three different positions: "0" switches the plane off, "1" switches the plane into Beginner Flight mode and "2" switches the plane into Advanced Flight mode.

Ensure that the remote control's power switch is activated. The switch has two different positions: "ON" and "OFF." Extend the remote control's antenna as far as possible.
