Now gently lift the nail and insert cotton between the skin and nail. Daily replace this cotton till it heals completely.

6. Take some tea tree oil and use it to massage the skin around ingrown nail. This will help in making the skin soft and will reduce the pressure.

7. Topical creams can be very helpful in treating ingrown toenail. Applying antibacterial creams on the affected region on regular basis will prove to be very useful.

8. While cutting your toenails you should be very careful. Remember not to cut them carelessly. Always cut your toenails straight.

9. Avoid pedicures on your infected toenails. Cosmetic materials can have harmful substances in them which can make the condition worse.

10. Always try to wear loose and comfortable shoes. This will prevent strain and pressure on your toes and will cause quick healing of ingrown toenail.
